SPACETIME COMPOSING is a series of sculptures, images, and musical compositions. The starting point is a computational algorithm that translates sound and music bidirectional into spatial forms using physical equations.
In "Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major (BWV 1007)," a composition by Johann Sebastian Bach is transformed into graphical line images. Conversely, in "Sonification of a Möbius Strip," the spatial structure of a geometric object is translated into polyphonic musical sequences and further developed in the "Möbius Strip Variation." In "Capriccio in B Major," form and music emerge together in an iterrative process going beyond a mere transformation.
SPACETIME COMPOSING explores the interplay between spatial and temporal structures in art. Through the physics-based transformation process, works are created in which sound and form are intrinsically interwoven, making interdisciplinary compositional principles audiovisually perceptible.
